Story of Rosakutty Lonappan
She was born and brought up in an orthodox Catholic family. Till the age of 25 she was with her parents and obeyed all the rules and regulations of the church. Then she was married to Lonakutty. Though he was an alcoholic, she lived with him and worked so hard to raise her three children the Lord blessed them with. The youngest one became a nun and is serving in North India. Rosakutty became a Christian 30 years ago after attending a Bible study near her work place. She committed her life to Jesus and became a true Christian. The news of her new experience made her kids and husband so furious that they began to physically abuse her. But she was not willing to forsake Jesus and compromise with the truth she had about Jesus. Though she could not read and write she was so committed to hear the Word through her friend’s children. Finally she decided to learn how to read and write so that she can read the Bible whenever she can. Her walk with Jesus made her to count all sufferings as joy. After 18 years her husband became a Christian. But this did not last for a long time. He went to be with the Lord within 5 months. This made Rosakutty’s life even tougher. The kids never wanted her in the house as she was not living a life of a Catholic. Many times she was kept outside the house and she had to sleep on the porch of the house. Finally all the kids left the house, leaving her all alone with no way to feed or care for herself. But none of these things made her to leave Jesus and walk away from Him. Every day she will go out to share the gospel to someone and pray for many. She is a powerful prayer warrior. Today she is 83 years old and serves the Lord joyfully. She is a true widow as we read in 1Timothy. Her needs have to be met by the body of Christ. Anyone who is willing to support her with $ 20 a month, please contact us. I will send her testimony and pictures to them. She lost her house in this monsoon. She has no place to sleep in. Right now she sleeps in her friends’ houses. VoG wants to build a house for such people, where widows like her can be taken care of and fed.
Story of Ammini
Sister Ammmini was born and raised in Trichur, Kerala. Her Hindu family had many shrines to gods and goddesses, along with being involved in witchcraft worship and practices. She was so deeply rooted in her religion and was very particular in keeping all Hindu festivals and practices. In 1961 She got married to a Hindu man and God blessed them with 3 girls and 1 boy. Everything was going so smoothly. Quite unexpectedly in 1981 March 12th her husband died of heart attack. Soon after the funeral, she was forced to move out of her husband’s house and go to her house with her 4 children. Ammini worked in a beedi company making small cigarettes to feed her children and run the family. Lack of proper food and hard work made her sick. She was diagnosed with an ulcer and could not eat any food or any drink. Life became so miserable with 4 children and her sickness. When she was taken to the hospital, she was in a coma and the doctors said that she would live for only 3 days. There was no hope on her. Then she was taken to the Medical College for further investigation and treatment. She was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach. After 28 days of treatment in the hospital she was sent home. Death was the only option before her. By this time her husband’s sister and family had become Christians through a divine healing in their lives. They shared the good news about Jesus to Ammini, and promised that Jesus would heal her if she would put her trust in Him. But for Ammini this was very stubborn, as she was so immersed and deeply rooted in her religion. Finally her youngest daughter, who was only 15 years old at that time, committed her life to Jesus and prayed to Him for the healing of her mom Ammini. One day she came to the worship centre with her husband’s sister and on that day the Lord healed and set her completely free from every sickness and pain. She was completely healed from ulcer and cancer. On 8th November 1990 she accepted Jesus as her personal saviour and committed the rest of her life into God’s hands. From that day onwards Jesus is her doctor, father, provider and friend. Today everyone in the family except her son serves the Lord and worship at the Voice of Gospel Worship centre. For many years she lived with us in our home and served the guests and the Bible school students. Today she is back at her home and cannot work anymore. Her two unmarried daughters live with her. She is a widow, as mentioned in 1 Timothy, who served the saints and is worthy to receive support. She is 70 years old and looks unto the Lord for her daily bread and needs.
